Everything the app knows about you, it learned from you. You can inspect and correct the memory it kept, and you can burn the room down whenever you choose. There is no email address, no phone number, no advertising, no analytics, no trackers, and nothing is ever sold or shared for anyone else's purposes.
All of this lives as plain, readable files in your own room on the server, and all of it is used for one purpose: making and playing your visualisations.
No email, phone number, contacts, location, photos, or device identifiers. No advertising or analytics software is in the app. Your network address is seen briefly by the server to slow down brute-force attempts and is not kept.
Three outside services are involved, each receiving only what it needs:
Both AI providers are used through their business interfaces, whose terms bar them from training on what you send. Because these services run outside India, your data is processed abroad; this is the only reason it leaves the country.
You. Sessions are locked with the passphrase only you know. The person who runs the server could, in principle, access the machine — as with any small service — but rooms are private by design and no one is in the business of reading them. If that trust matters to you, it should: this app holds inner life, and it is built by someone who treats that as sacred. Your data would be disclosed to anyone else only if the law required it.
Until you erase it. Generated audio is cached under anonymous content fingerprints; identifiable cache is removed with your room, and unreferenced cache files are purged after 30 days. Server backups, where kept, roll off within 30 days, so an erased room disappears from them too.
In your room, "erase my room" deletes your entire folder — memory, tracks, session logs, usage counts, account — immediately and permanently. No copy is kept and it cannot be restored.
It is stored only as a one-way hash and it is the only key to your room. Because the app holds no email or phone number, a forgotten passphrase cannot be recovered or reset — the room is simply locked forever. Keep it somewhere safe.
Firelight is for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and it does not knowingly hold data about anyone under 18. If you believe it does, write in and the room will be erased.
If this policy changes, the new version will appear here with a new effective date, and any change that matters will be shown in the app before it takes effect.
